Getting started
OpenTeller is a personal budgeting app for iPhone and iPad. Track your spending from any bank, anywhere. Setup takes about 15 seconds.
OpenTeller is a paid app, Pro or Pro+. There's no free tier. See plans & billing for what each one gets you.
Pick where your data lives
This is the first choice you make, and it shapes everything else. Two modes:
iCloud mode. No account. Your data lives in your own iCloud, end-to-end encrypted. We never see it. Private and on-device. This is the Pro plan.
OpenTeller account. Your data lives on our servers so it can sync to the web, your household, and AI tools (MCP). More power, less secrecy. This is the Pro+ plan.
iCloud mode is the private default. An OpenTeller account isn't about handing over your data for no reason. It's what unlocks the web app, household sharing, and connecting AI tools to your finances.
Set up in about 15 seconds
- Download OpenTeller from the App Store and open it.
- Pick a storage mode: iCloud or an OpenTeller account. You can change this later.
- Get a few transactions in. There are three ways: a screenshot, a CSV, or one-tap bank sync. See getting transactions in.
- Set a budget so OpenTeller can show you how you're tracking.
You can set your currency in Settings. Do it early so everything reads right from the start.
Switching modes later
Not locked in. You can switch storage modes anytime in Settings.
Your iCloud data stays put when you switch away, and it comes back when you switch back. Nothing gets thrown out.
What you need
OpenTeller runs on iPhone and iPad. There's also a web app, which needs an OpenTeller account and is part of Pro+.
Some on-device AI features, screenshot import and the default Ask assistant, need an Apple-Intelligence-capable device on iOS 26+. CSV import and account features work more broadly. See the FAQ for device details.
